WNBA star Caitlin Clark to take questions from Long Island Association

12/10 20:01

Caitlin Clark, a star guard for the WNBA's Indiana Fever, is set to participate in a discussion hosted by the Long Island Association later this month, focusing on her career and influence in popular culture.

The event is scheduled for October 29 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, beginning at 10:30 a.m. with a Networking Reception, followed by a Luncheon and Program. It will be moderated by Matt Cohen, the association's president and CEO, covering topics such as her record-breaking performances, captivating playing style, philanthropy, and iconic media presence.

Ticket prices for nonmembers are $5,500 for a table of 10 or $600 for an individual ticket, while members receive special rates. The event is sponsored by several organizations, including Four Leaf Federal Credit Union, Long Island University, PSEG Long Island, and Newsday.

The Long Island Association, a business group established in 1926, has a history of hosting notable speakers, including political figures like Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, as well as sports stars such as Derek Jeter and David Beckham. Past events have occasionally generated news, such as Colin Powell's endorsement of Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Messages to the association regarding the event were not immediately returned, and the discussion highlights Clark's rising profile, with Newsday previously noting her potential to become the richest athlete in women's team sports history.
