Knicks’ Jalen Brunson becomes NBA All-Star starter for second straight season

20/01 10:02

Jalen Brunson has been named an All-Star starter for the second consecutive year, marking his third straight All-Star appearance overall. He received the third-most votes in the Eastern Conference.

Brunson, who is returning from a right ankle sprain for the Knicks' game against the Mavericks, is averaging 28.2 points and 6.1 assists per game this season, shooting 48.1% from the field and 38.8% from three-point range.

This year's All-Star format features three teams of eight players: two teams composed of American players and one World team. Starters were determined by the top five vote-getters in each conference, regardless of position.

Other Eastern Conference starters include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jaylen Brown, Cade Cunningham, and Tyrese Maxey. Western Conference starters are Steph Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic, Victor Wembanyama, and Nikola Jokic.

Among other Knicks players, Karl-Anthony Towns received the seventh-most votes in the East but did not make the top five. OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart ranked 15th, 17th, and 18th, respectively, in the latest voting results.
