Anna DeBeer explodes in debut as ZUS stuns Chery Tiggo
ZUS Coffee defeated Chery Tiggo in four sets with scores of 25-15, 19-25, 25-20, and 25-23 in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference match held on Saturday at the Dasmariñas Arena in Cavite.
American import Anna DeBeer had an outstanding debut, scoring 37 points from 35 attacks, one block, and one ace, along with 14 receptions, which helped ZUS Coffee secure a 1-0 record in Pool B.
DeBeer's debut was delayed as she missed ZUS Coffee's previous match against Akari, which was later nullified due to the delayed issuance of International Transfer Certificates by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation.
Reflecting on her experience, DeBeer expressed that it was incredible and fun, stating, "I had no expectations coming here and just to see how everyone gets behind us and the environment, it's so fun to play in. It just helps everyone to play better," and adding, "I really think it's a fun place to play in."
Local players supported DeBeer, with AC Miner contributing 13 points and Kate Santiago adding 7 points for ZUS Coffee during the match.
For Chery Tiggo, reinforcement Yuni Batista delivered a strong performance with 22 points, 8 digs, and 6 receptions, while Ara Galang chipped in with 15 points.
