Team Info
La Berrichonne de Châteauroux, commonly known as Châteauroux, is a French football club playing in the Championnat National. Based in the city of Châteauroux in central France, the team's home ground is the Stade Gaston Petit. The club was founded in 1903 and wears blue and white. Named after the historic province of Berry, the club has spent much of its history in the lower professional tiers. Their most famous achievement came in 2004 when they had a fairytale run to the final of the Coupe de France, ultimately finishing as runners-up. This period under coach Victor Zvunka was a high point, featuring memorable giant-killing acts. In recent years, Châteauroux has fluctuated between Ligue 2 and the Championnat National. The club is known for its strong community ties and a compact stadium that provides a close-knit matchday atmosphere. While currently in the third tier, Châteauroux remains a club with a proud identity and a history of producing competitive teams capable of surprising bigger opponents.
